Flower Garden Festival 2010

July 18th Sunday. i arranged to pick mum up and sis came too! we were heading to Suntec for Flower Festival. i was looking forward to it as i remembered seeing many nice pics from 2 other frens who atteneded 2 years ago. dressed baby R in a flowery skirt!

doting daddy always checks out and see what baby R wears and wants to be in the same colour as her!

there were 2 levels to the exhibition. one on level 4 and the other on level 6. the level 4 hallway was filled with yellow orchids! very pretty. this level was an exhibit for mainly orchids. there were so many different types of orchids and every corner even the ceiling, hung orchids!

not sure if these were the icons for the flower garden fest.  baby r jus want to get down on the floor to walk on her own. she is so into walking now that she dun want to be carried! esp if she sees other children walking about!

the grasshopper, the ladybug and the bee.... i sure have a very busy bee!

we checked out level 4 which was the orchid exhibition and i was taken away with the soooo many different species of orchid. they come in all sort of sizes, tiny to huge one, light to dark coloured ones, pretty and some weird-looking ones!

mum said that aunt k should come as she loves flowers!

not many people around this exhibit and we allowed baby R to take a walk with any adult holding her hand.... the orchid  exhibit is a competition bewteen countries, how they exhibit they orchid arrangement. then we walked thru sellers' corner where there are stalls that sells potted flowers, soil, fertilizers to fake flowers, landscape service to even organic fruits and veggies!

the bonsai competition area was more serene.calm. peaceful.

there was a huge wall of orchids and baby R was getting impatient and she wants her freedom thus she broke free and ran away from us when possible! she likes to walk on her own and hits our hand to get us to let go so she can roam around freely on her own walking with her hands flipped at her waist like a little penguin! But when she got caught, she would sit on the floor and hide her face.... both daddy and mummy dislke that to the max! so she got strapped unwillingly to the pram by daddy.

      level 6

well, she sulked but daddy didnt give in and i was jus glad she stopped and never made any more noise when she was "punished". but she wasnt in the pram for long as once we hit the level 6 where there were many more people, she was taken out and carried by daddy as we walked past many people who were very near the flower exhibit and i wasnt thrilled at all.... i didnt see much as i dun like crowd.... hard to see the display as alot of blockage. also i didnt find it very interesting... the little one got on her feet once there were less people walking around. she and daddy made up at the sale booth playing with the soft toys.

we saw the walking flowers pots and insects! we grab the chance to take a photo with the ladybug. baby R was thrilled to see the ladybug! she wore the ladybug costume before so she recognise only the ladybug and thus not afraid to go near and she even smiled looking at her dancing about us! but not so relaxed when she was taking photo with the grasshopper and bee... she is a very curious baby!

baby R not afraid of crowd, she insisted walking on her own... so we held her hands but not for long.... she simply likes walking.... almost running about on her own! i had to run 2 steps before her to stop her going off track and when she saw me, she made a detour! she is jus soooooo pipi!

seriuosly, i wasnt very into the exhibition.... spotting the walking exhibits - flower pots and the insects seemed more fun for us! baby R eyes on them when she spots them! she loved watching the 3 insects dancing around the flower pots! the bumble bee pulled a lady who was in a yellow and black stripe polo for a photo! should have let baby R wear her ladybug costume! there was a little baby prob younger than baby R, she cried as her grandma brought her near the performers for a photo! my little baby R dun seem to be frighten easily... she is more afraid of loud sudden sounds like drilling or the blender but not thunder...

the huge gardener... the main attraction... but i was not exactly taken away...

half-way thru the exhibition, i ran out of battery so i depended on my hp...
baby r is still our main attraction!

i know daddy didnt enjoy the exhibition very much so 2 years later.... if they hold it again.... wonder if we would go for it... still i was glad we brought mum out for a walk. we haven done so since mum moved! best of all.... becos we brought mum to suntec.... we met up with long lost relatives. one thing lead to another and thou the exhibition didnt live up to my expectation.... i was glad it unexpectedly hooked us up to something else.
