33rd week = so many activities ... almost everyday!

33rd week was a busy week. for my 34th week, almost everyday i have been waking up early preparing breakfast for gx and my baby, head to the room and started blogging on last week's activities. a quick recap and also updated hi-t with dap cos i have received photos from her!

Monday 20th - dinner with gx's family at Lao Beijing after the whole day of lazing at home!

Tuesday 21st - after tying many, many ribbons, went to meet aunt o and i was given a big gift! lucky me owns a black burberry bag now! yet to use it! also aunt k gave me a new set of blender for making baby food! in the evening gx and i went for our last prenatal session at scgs. met tj and her hubby there! they were taking saturday class and everyone ends their session at the same doctor's talk.


Wednesday 22nd - Wednesday with Dap! dap took a day-off and we head to the national museum to see an exhibition. after that we head for hi-tea at sheraton. it was a special offer of 1-for-1 teaset. she had earl grey while i have camomile tea.

then my dear fren gave me a huge white envelope for my bdae and out come a pinky piggy! a very cute hot waterbag from GOD. our 3 tiers of hi-tea sumptious bites was not bad. quite a range of food.

for price of $28++ and 1-for-1. it was worth it. the hi-t starts at 2-5.30 but we got there at 1.30pm and they arranged for us to sit in and started us with our pots of tea. we were advised to start with the warmed scones and it was nice with the fresh cream and love that the strawberry jam had lots of "seeds" on it!

the little canapes were nice and i like the salmon roll and prawns on focaccia toast best. love the petite desserts served! although it looks little but i enjoyed the time and i was pretty filled when we completed everything on the tier!

i want to try to bake some scones sometime! maybe i should start working on my very own hi-tea tier! the best scones i had was a pit-stop during my hunters valley trip in sydney where we had tea in a little cottage. the scones were hot and i love the creamy cream and of cos the jam!after hi-t, dap wanted satay so we had some before gx fetched me home and i slept!

thursday 23rd - i SLEPT! the WHOOOOOOOOOLE day! i was to pack the room, top up missing items from the baby delivery bag... and i did none of it! i just slept! it rained hard and i slept till almost evening time and when i woke up i was still in a daze! after shower felt better but i was still able to fall asleep so fast when i hit the bed after gx sang bdae song to me at 12mn!

friday 24th - grouchy the whole day but was glad i started on the big project of clearing the room! then i suffered terrible heartburn and rested then went on to pack as much as i can. gx was a little late home and i was unhappy! went home was thrilled that mum made my day as she prepared ngoh hiang steamboat for my bdae! then went home and had the mango strudel my sil bought me for cake-cutting. bedtime after bdae massage for an aching preggy body was heavens!

saturday 25th - went for clarins body-shaping talk and went home to mums to have yummy mee-siam! then head home to prep for the home-party for 6+sil +baby cavan. the weather was hot and think it would be so much easier to have conversation if the weather was alittle cooler! made a our very own party petite fours with the desserts bought by our guests and me!

sunday 26th - luncheon at club chinois. early celebration of mothers' day for my mum. the food is not bad and worth the value as we benefit from the 1-for-1 offer! after the heavy lunch, gx and i head to orchard point to get my free silver MF germany pot. at OP, we met penny and she was so excited to see me and the first thing she said to me was WOW you are so big! em... i think i am too! with all the eating and rest, i think i did pile on quite a bit! after she paid for her shopping, we sat at the cafe in OG to chat. she was sharing with me her 2nd birth experience and gave me very good advice and recommendation for after birth issues. after the rain stopped, we left the cafe and we head home. i was glad to have met Penny! once home, gx napped! he only wake up when X-men started. then we pop over to Ch8 to see who won what award on star awards ceremony. then i had a slice of apple strudel while gx had his tim chocolate fingers biscuits for dessert!

A very busy week... thus 34th week was just blogging every morning, packing very little thru the piles i made from friday's packing, reading up on breastfeeding, and i slept again for the whole of tuesday! went to gynae yesterday -wednesday! its a slow day again for thursday- today!

early Mum's Day celebration @ Club Chinois

sunday 26th april - as uncle j left for his shanghai china trip yesterday, he let us take over his lunch reservation at club chinois. so we had an early mothers' day celebration. previously when i called up they told me that the reservation is fully taken up till july and when cousin a called to make another reservation for her family, it will be in august!

the decor of the restuarant is very simple compared to humble house but my sis, bro and gx prefered the menu here as there are more variety. but as for the serving of the dishes, they were not as efficient as humble house. at humble house they cooked according to the number of people. here they serve little dishes and they never told us so when they served the dimsum, only half the table got to eat as they only serve 1long that has only 4! we had to reorder most of the 1st round dishes! for some starters, most of us enjoyed the duck tongue! its was very tender! (the 1st dish among the 3 dishes), hardly in singapore did we come across this dish! we ordered the norm dimsum and appetiser dishes. only took pics of some different dishes. the salmon roll in crepe was nicely decorated but personally i find it not very nice... i find that the cooked salmon had a smell and the sauce can't cover the or enhance the taste.

unlike the humble house receipt where it list down all the food you ordered, thats how i remembered some names of the dishes, at CC they just had on the receipt UOB 1-for-1 promo. so i can't remember what type of mushroom it was but the so soft and nice and with the sauce, it taste like abalone! it was good! the fried dish was ordered by me as i was curious how monkey mushroom would look like! this was served with wasabi sauce but it was just piles of fried flour and i can't taste the mushroom at all!

the meesua was served in a special sauce and i like the soft, nicely twirled meesua, it was in a special sauce that was ok. we had quite alot of dishes except that i wasn't able to join in when they ate the yummy and big fried soft shell crabs and fried oysters! somehow i dun remember much of the food without the pics! my memory is alittle failing towards the last weeks of my pregnancy! the best part of cos has to be the desserts! unlike HH where the desserts were buffet-styled, here we get quite a few choices of bowled desserts! while the rest of my family only ordered 2-3desserts to share, i ordered 5 types to try with gx and mum! on the menu, there was almong cream with gluntinous riceball but i didnt order anything that was sounds too hot has riceballs in them! among the desserts we ordered, i didnt try the guilin gao and gluntinous riceballs.

personally i have very high standard when it comes to mango pudding! i find this too much gelatine and i dun like the sauce as its sweet-sourish! the lemongrass aloe vera and jelly was very cooling and refreshing! but i didnt like the dop of lime sherbet on top as it makes it sour! gx and i liked the red date longan soup as the sweetness was just nice and the red dates were so soft! the dessert that gx and i didnt like was the chestnut cream with fresh water chestnut! but mum finished it and said it was good!

the best bet that i ordered was the cold pumkin served with black glutionous rice! gx didnt want to try this so this i shared with mum! i loved it and mum too wanted another bowl of this! it was so good! there wasnt this strong pumpkin smell and the paste was so cold and smooth! the black gluntinous rice served with coconut gave this dessert the crunch! very interesting texture and combination! as one bowl was not enough and it got the rest of my famliy interested, we made our last order 5 bowls of this and i ordered a aloe vera for gx and i was glad i did as he still didnt like the pumkin! mum said she is gog to try to make this dessert! if she succeed then i would really be in luck to have a bigger bowl of this nice dessert!

so for 1-for-1, it was $38x4=$152 and 8pax tea=$14.40 and with the ++%, our total was $195.85. each pax was about $24.83 and it was worth it as the meal at LBJ for 5 was oredi $170++! after we left the resturant, we took family shots and individual shots with mum! too bad dad had to work and lucky uncle k get to join us for the meal!

after mum's place, we head home. gx insist on napping while i got busy with preparing the party ware and heating up the meesiam gravy and boiling some hardboil eggs. then i wanted to go over to central to get more handpick snacks but the weather was a killer! i felt the heartburn again! so i rested. then thank goodness that soh was at central and i got him to get some prawns from mos burger as i had craving for prawns. the kfc was delivered just before the guests arrived.

S&H bought a long apple studel and M&A bought 2 tubs of bens and jerry's ice-cream! S said they didnt have durian strudel so he bought apple. told them my sil got me the mango strudel for bdae, they wanted to try so for half a strudel, we suddenly replaced it with a whole apple strudel! before they came, i doubled-boiled some dark valrhona chocolate as i bought belgium waffles and profiteroles. the chocolate+cream filled profiteroles was from the european fair at isetan and i was not bad.

so with the ladies' help, we topped the belgium waffles with the ice-cold B&J vanilla ice-cream and drizzled with more chocolate sauce. then serve the other chocolate macadamia ice-cream with 2 dark choc minty sticks! the chocolate cup taste so much like baileys! i am not sure if the waffles were consider hard... but i loved it with the cold yummy vanilla ice-cream! our party very own petite four!

Little Cavan was a star. i consider him a good boy! he doesnt have those persistant cries he seems to be talking and also with the heat, i think he did well! love his smile and esp when he raise one side of his eyebrow, he's so adorable! love this pic of the happy family! just i snapped, the little boy moved forward!

the little one is pretty photogenic! he is so ready with his smile and i enjoyed talking to him! glad we finally met up! next time i see them is prob when i give birth! it was a hot nite and i had to take a second shower after cleaning up and i was glad my sil helped us out! she was wonderful helping us with the dishes after the dinner and when the guest left, she helped to mop the floor. deeply appreciate her help!

i wasnt gog to complain that our strudel got longer! from half mango it became a full length strudel! so my verdict on strudel... both nice! i had the apple strudel for breakfast the next morning with a warm glass of milk! i love apple desserts so i am not complaining! basically i love desserts and i think my baby loves it too! but daddy doesnt really fancy strudel esp apple strudel!

Shape Up! Body Chat @ Clarins!

Saturday 25th April - woke up early and after gx went to work, i laze alittle and blog up my outing with dap. then time flew past and i hurried to Clarins Institute at wheelock. i didnt have time to eat breakfast and i only had milk in the morning. i was sure baby will kick me in class! thank goodness for their very thoughtful planner, there were sandwiches. i was offered 2 types of sandwiches - mushroom and the other cheese (2 different types of cheese in the same sandwich!) didnt take the beef sandwich. i was so glad i ease my hunger and my baby won't kick me!

as usual we were served juice in crystal glass and tea in english teacups and saucers. then it was the same speaker who did the explanation for the mum's talk. Received a Clarins Beauty Kit worth $60. In this kit includes Water Comfort One-Step Cleanser, 50ml, Energizing Emulsion 30ml, Wonder Length Mascara Miniature, Colour Quench Lip Balm Miniature and a handy pouch. for the $20 fee, i redeemed it when i bought extra-firming body care and body shaping supplement. i was also given a set of facial trial-sized products free.

i made lots of notes on the application method and also the exercises steps! while everyone is busy standing up stretching, i was busy sketching! my poor memory will lose all information if i dun pen it down! after the class, after the consultation with the clarin gal, i asked a non-product question... so where did they get their sandwiches from??? Cos i liked the mushroom sandwiches alot! glad that she knew it was from TCC! just as i left clarins, mum called. she told me she cooked meesiam! i was so tempted and can't resist so i called gx and told him to fetch me from mum's after he collects the car from service ctr!

love the meesiam my mum cooks! glad i made a trip back hm! gx too was glad to be home to eat the meesiam! i didnt fancy the prawns and fishcake somehow... which usually i love! i was contented with just the gravy and beehoon! then as my mum cooked so much, i packed home some for my evening dinner party! so instead of popping by novena sq to do our takeout, we just have to make a call to order the kfc! the weather was a killer and glad my mum saved our trip!

My 32nd birthday!

on the actual day Friday 24th April 2009, woke up feeling xianz. planned to go to swensens with nesa and aunt k for ice-cream but spending the whole day clearing my room, i needed to rest as i was suffering from heartburn! aching all over and very exhausted! so i spent 2 hours lying down on my couch before getting up to finish up the clearing. waited for gx to come home from work and i threw tantrum... i was in bad mood! poor gx. i was happier when i reach mum's place!

suppose to dabao but then sis told me they have been eating out and mum say weather hot, eat homecook. when i got home, i was feeling hot when i saw the Tiger steamboat machine! steamboat on a hot night??? then when i saw my favourite meatballs... then it became a different story! i was really surprise to see the ngoh hiang meatballs! M told me that my mum and her made those the nite before! i was really touched... my mum is very sweet! i feel so lucky and blessed... i was really hungry when the steamboat started to bubble! love that smell! also the fish maw had the "sticky white stuff" on it! LOVED it! my dad bought roast duck from people's park famous stall for my bdae... i am so jelly, i was touched by my parents and was easily near to tears. i had such good appetitate that i ask for another half bowl of rice!

after dinner, i even ate a bowl of red bean soup with gluntinous riceball. then cake-cutting, the mango mousse cake was from gx. we got it from crystal jade the nite before as i was afraid i was lazy to get out of the house... which i did stayed home (would have loved to get my cake from rive or baker inn!) ... and oso in case we didnt have time to get one before gog back. we got a good discount for it! it was 40% off after 8.30pm and i think we paid about $19++ for 1kg cake! the cake was not bad as the mousse was served cold and was great dessert for the hot nite!

32 years old. happy as my wish to be a mother is gog to be full-filled soon! i just wish that all my love ones around me be happy and healthy and i am so looking forward to my little one joining the family soon! Gx and i are looking forward to have our little one on our laps in future bdae celebrations!

when we got home, while waiting for mil from her showers, gx took the time to turn into Iron Man! took a chance to take a photo of him as IM! so when we cut cake, just as i am getting ready to take the photo, he made bunny ears on my head from the very time he stood next to me!

then i return him with attacks and we kept disturbing each other and my sil's bf just record all our funny actions! i love the pics when gx was irritating me with his bdae songs in english, mandrin and then broken cantonese! my sil and bf got me a strudel instead of a cake. i loved the idea as gx and i have been eating so much cake and creamy desserts! they got me a mango strudel. sil was very sweet to want to get me clarins products for my stretch marks. she mgsed gx about it and gx stopped her as i oredi got the products! so i told gx to ask her just get me a cake! i apprecitate that she is so thoughtful!

its my first time eating a mango strudel and it was nice! after i ate my "cake", my bdae was over! received 3 angbaos. one from aunt s, my mil and my fil gave me a lucky packet too. went into the room and gx gave me a bdae massage! i slept well... very tired after the whole day of packing the room!
