Friday 16th July. OMG! what else can i ask for? my dear fren dap came by and we were planning what to do... the rain and napping baby slowed our plans and we needed to think again... then i received an important call.... that changed everything! a call from GX.... it was 3pm and he asked where i was.... have i left the house.... "cos i am ont he way home!" WoooohoooO! i love everyday that he was home before 6pm but it was a blessing when he was let off early on Friday!
i had my cravings inserted into our outing! early dinner at Geylang. not sure which lorong but its easy to spot the place. the shophouse is on the right side of the road heading in from Paya Lebar side and stop when you see a HUGE red signboard with a chinese character SONG! the peanut served here is special! Malai peanuts! the spiceness isnt hot... its kinda like wasabi.... it numbs the tongue and gives your mouth a "weng weng weng" feel! i liked it! dandan mien is something daddy eats in SH. he say he didnt get choices like in singapore.... they only have 1 kind of noodles! Kou Shui Ji (directly translate as Saliva Chicken!) is a cold dish. spicy too with the good dose of chilli oil! 4 season bean (si ji dou) was soft and nice.
the reason that bought me here.... Ma La Crabs! i first tried the crabs bought by my uncle K and i loved it. i fell for the Ma La and the fact that i got to eat the savoury kind of Nian Gao was a treat! to my surprise .... A HUGE surprise to all of us... was the price. i knew the crab was the tiny kind. i didnt ask my uncle how they charge... we looked thru the menu was taken back.... we ordered a small crab not knowing how many would be served.... 3 crabs in a huge silver bowl with nian gao and peanuts for $18! the other dish we ordered and we all liked it was Jin Sa Yu Mi Xia (salted egg fried prawn with corn nibblets) this was the most expensive dish we had $22 but it was all worth it! my dear who dun eat corn... took spoonful of the corn! esp when it was served hot it was so shiok! the fried prawns was 2nd to the corn!
Thou i enjoyed the meal.... baby R was also a good gal till we took too long to eat the crab and the many dishes we order.... everything was good till someone came up to tell us the traffic police is here.... i was in trouble! well... gx couldnt find a lot so he park illegally and wanted to sit downstairs. but i find the place smelt weird downstairs and so near the road, the noise.... and we were given a choice to go upstairs where there is aircon.... i chose upstairs... and thus he couldnt stop the fine.... but he didnt flare.... he took it calmly.
the funny thing was... when we were in the car... daddy told us that he still smell the stinky smell... so we checked our shoes.... i gana a big patch of stuff on my sandals! dap gana alittle and no wonder the smell followed us! what luck..... lucky the car mat didnt get any of it .... we quickly wiped off and got it cleared out of the car.... dun think daddy will bring us back so soon....
