Sunday 27th June 2010. many baby and baby+mummy 1st times! after the rain stop, we were all prep to go for outing! 5 adults, 4 children and 1 baby hopped into my uncle K's odesey and arrived at the airport T3! Aunt O planned lunch at Crystal Jade Shanghai... same one that we had for mothers' day celebration. but i was looking forward to the dishes that aunt O orders cos she always have special dishes to recommend!
first thing that came to the table and when i tried it, i fell in love with it! not sure what tea it was but it was good! naturally kind of sweet and the taste was soothing. warms the body and i felt relaxed when i drank it. Aunt O ordred alot of dishes and it was impossible for me to take photos of every dish as i have no help looking after my baby R. sis was looking after one twin and mum took care of the other. so i generally took photo but only realise i didnt take the pics of the yummy new dishes i tried! most of all, i was really busy chopping up the soft yang chong mien for my baby R! her 1st try with noodles! SHE LOVED NOODLES! she ate so fast and didnt allow me to stop to have some food! but i told her that i was really hungry and we take turns to eat.. she allowed but she eats like 5 spoons of noodles before i can have a bite!
Cabbage dish would be one of the dish i will never order but it was fantastic! i was surprised by this dish. looks plain, just some light green leaves lying on the plate. but i was so wrong! it had so much flavour! it soaked up alot of stock and the cabbage was sweet! another dish that i was sceptical of was the cucumber salad dish. cucumber was in curls and served with mayo, shredded carrot and corn nibbles..... the cucumber was pickled and crunchy and refreshing!!! Loved it! unexpected what was for dessert.... soya beancurd. it was very very very soft! 2 versions. one's with white sugary syrup and that was light and nice. one's without the sugar and have to add your own amount of brown syrup. both nice as the brown one has its own unique taste. i was glad mum helped me carry my little one to let me enjoy food... thou cold but i love the dong bo rou and sat thru quietly on the big round table to eat my beancurd while the kids went for a walk.
Next stop was dashing over to great world city to catch a movie! the twins were excited about the movie as they kept asking me if we were gog cos of the rain and when their parents called they kept telling them about the movie outing. thanks to technology on the go, lucky my sis ordered the movie tics with her iphone. almost ran out of tics! i was hesistant the nite before about bringing rachel to the movies. i told aunt o what happens if i leave the cinema from the start and the ticket would be wasted.... she told me, if i dun try i wot know and if she cries, just bring her out of the cinema and go walk around and shop!
Toy Story 3 in 3D. once in the cinema, i told Rachel that we are gog to watch a show on a very big screen and the sound system is very loud. she was amazed by the screen and attracted by the ads that she didnt seemed to mind the loudness and darkness! she loves ads and i was glad that took away some anxiety from mummy not baby! i was alittle worried about her adjusting to the dark environment but she seemed so fine! thinking about it, i am glad i put her to sleep in a dark room with just the table lamp lighting up a corner in the room. she also sees the com screen next to my lamp and she has no prob watching cartoons!
she sat thru half the show before she made some noise! i quickly scooped her up and brought her to the back of the cinema... wanted to exit but i decided to sway her alittle and she fell asleep immediately! it was kinda planned.... in the morning after she woke up, she was too excited playing with the twins and looked forward to go out that she didnt nap.... she ate her noodles so she didnt nap at the restaurant. she was too excited in the car that she kept looking at all her little yiyis and uncle luc, so again no nap... jus before the show started, mum helped me feed baby r some milk while i took shots of everyone and it was a miracle that baby r had stamina to last till half way thru the show! i managed to catch a movie with my baby R and i got to finish the show!
i like the show. i didnt enjoy part 2 but this was good.... i teared when the mum teared feeling sad that her son was leaving for college.... i held baby r in my arms tight... she was lying on my chest all the time thru the show and i felt so warm with her little body hugging me. when andy gave her toys to the little girl and when he said his final goodbye to the toys, i felt so sad and tears rolled and i held to struggle to wipe it off before ,y tears drop onto my sleeping baby and i had to keep the 3d glasses on! i had 2 woody and i got nic to give me buzz, the last buzz in that cinema for an exchange of a surprise.... thanks to nic i now have both woody and buzz!
