Sesame Street Live

11th Sept 2010, Saturday. an exciting day for baby R! We were waiting patiently for daddy to come home to get us! he had to work half day but he was really late when he came home to get us! we rushed to the indoor stadium! we managed to be there on time but as usual alot of audience usually local are very late....

baby R was too excited to listen to me that she only fell asleep in the car. when we reached she was still asleep. while she was asleep daddy took a shot of me with my elmo earring! then baby R heard big bird's voice announcing the show is to began in 10minutes. she woke up and she had a very blur face.... looked around and we told her we are at Sesame street!

**

i was glad she did power nap alittle, woke up before the show started as i wanted to have her prep for the loud music and crowd... i worried if she was able to take the clapping and cheering. since there was time, we let her have a snack before the show started. after looking at the stage for awhile, she got excited as she recognise the Sesame street sign, she pointed at it and smile!

then she got alittle impatient and the lights went off! Let the Show begin! this is OUR 1st Sesame Street show! we sat 9 rows from the stage! Special thanks to my sis who got us staff discount oof 25%! too bad that we didnt manage to get the tickets near the aisle.... baby R wot get any blockage if we sat near the aisle!

i was excited to see big bird and elmo too! i grew up watching sesame street in the afternoons with my grandma! the show was into half an hour and the jap family infront of us stood up and left! the indonesian family spread out and took their seats and there was more viewing space for us! the only thing was the indonesian kids dropped the cup of drink and it splatter onto my bag which was on the floor!

at first baby R was in a state of confusion! prob thinking the characters were out of the telly box!

the lady sitting next to gx came with her daughter who came dressed as Abby! she had a headband with diffferent shades of purple wool and she had a wooly wand jus like Abby! i found Abby character on stage rather cute! sadly we didnt have the chance with aisle seats! the characters came off stage and ran down the aisle, danced and shook hands with the kids along the aisle! we were 6th seats away!

there were very few $119 seats at the front that says + meet the characters session... really?
well, children under 2years old is allowed on parents lap thus they dun need to pay... but that will cost us almost $240 for the show! but i think the next time we catch sesame street will be when the 2nd one comes along but then baby R would need a ticket too! think i will rush to get aisle seats instead! that would be way cool enough unless i strike rich!

i was quite impressed with the props, the backdrop, the setting and the songs were entertaining for the kids! but gx almost fell asleep when baby R was in my arms! i had to wake him up to take pics for baby R! baby R got to stand on me when i took her and i danced with her! she got more interactive with whats happening on the stage as i talked to her, like we usually do when we sit to watch children shows on telly!

the show was about What do you want to be when you grow up? the characters were trying to stage a pagent show and they showed what the different characters wanted to be when they grew up! when ernie and bert wanted to be rangers, i like the part where the stage got dark and the "scary trees" appeared!

love that baby R enjoyed herself, swaying to the music, had her hands in the air doing the "concert wave"
she clapped her hands on her own, cheering for the characters on stage!

cookie monster sure look smart in his fireman uniform!
wonder how many "puppets" were used or do they jus dress the characters up for each role?

it was good to see Baby R excited till she leaned forward to get herslef nearer to the stage!
love her expressions!

there was a 15 minutes break and we gave baby R teabreak. i saw lots of people with the programme book and we planned to check it out after the show! the book cost $15! but daddy got it for darling daughter! when the show was almost about to start, another family stood up to leave... that gave us more viewing space and baby R had better view of the stage!

the 2nd part of the show started with elmo's world! Elmo talked about weather. when it came to snow, snow flakes blew from the stage! when Elmo had mail, a "human with a monitor screen on her head" ran about the stage! Mr Noodle was not a man, it was a lady disguised Mr Noodle! then after the Elmo's world segment, it returned to the pagent show.

grouchy Oscar is one of my favourite character. he's jus being truthful. no pretence, thats why i prob like him!
Rosita's Amigo performance was the most colourful of them all!

**

when the light shone onto the disco ball, the crowd got excited as the ceiling looked so nice!

streamers were popped towards the audience as the show was ending with the last dance performed on stage by all the characters! i was so glad that baby R loved the show, she didnt find the loud speakers annoying, she danced and clapped thru the show and wasnt afraid of the crowd's cheers. she waved goodbye to the characters, blew many kisses to them!

**

baby R was way excited when daddy picked up a light blue streamer for her!
it was the same colour as my scarf!

glad we made it for the show!
our 15th month old baby R enjoyed the show!

hungry papa and mama stopped by the KFC to have late lunch! the weather was scorching and it was a good place to hide and settle our grumbling tummies! instead of eating her own snack, baby R aimed for our whipped potato and she kept pretending to eat it up!
