Good Friday brunch treat from sis!

sis gave our family a treat at Taka Crystal Jade. baby r was a little terror! she was given carrot stick snack and apple crisp. when she was done, she would shout out for more! she was a little noisy baby! fierce! she is pretty independent. she feeds herself on her own, making little mess but she is considered doing very well by mummy's standard!

these were the dishes ordered by sis. some were pretty special! for starters, the crystal jade serves my favourite century egg. whats special about these eggs is the centre of the century egg, its soft, mushy and its nice! the jelly part of this egg is pretty clear and soft, love the texture and superb eaten with the ginger slices! the roast pork is so neatly cut! perfectly cut, same size and height was consistant! these were dipped into mustard and its my first time eating it this way, rather special. the roast pork's skin was crispy! the duck tongue with jelly fish was not bad! the duck tongue was very soft.

the chicken, i can't remember its name, seems to be a cold dish? i didnt really fancy it so not much impression. served with something similiar to rojak sauce? sis did order the usual dimsum dishes like har kow(my favourite is crystal jade!) siew miew? (how to spell...) chicken feets, custard buns but they dun have salted egg in it and pan fried carrot cake but she oso ordered the steamed carrot cake which is served in a bowl. there was a dish which i didnt try. all beef parts. they said the beefy smell was rather strong.

broccoli in crabby sauce. sis say this is rather a shanghainese dish, like the ones she and mum ate in shanghai last year. sis ordered the little pastries for me as she knows how i love prawns and banana combi! but like she knew me so well, she tot the banana was too little! more would have been better for the taste as its rather bland as its like a prawn fritter pastries. but i love the prawns served at dimsum, all so crunchy and fresh! love the seafood noodle! the crispy noodles were great! the dessert that sis told me that i would sure like! Mochi! she told us that we will sure like it alot... and i LOVED it alot! the skin is sooooooo soft and i love the fillings! its mango and sweet! heavens! not sure how much these cost! but i want more next time i am at taka.

little one is good at feeding herself and she wants to try some of the food we have on the table too! i let baby r have some custard bun and mango from the mochi. she was happy! the baby chair they had was alittle way too big for her and she had so much space to put her leg up on her seat! love it when she place both her legs on the legs of the high chair! she sure knows how to make herself comfortable! she does look alittle boyish in grey even thou she is wearing a long-sleeved dress matched with jeans!
