they brought us for lunch and also to check out the venue for their rom. won't reveal the place and i didnt take many pics except for what we had for lunch. didnt want to reveal as so not to spoil their plans. the place is quite nice. we had rice with a few dishes. the kangkong was sadly mostly stems... but i love the squid! love the sauce that it was grilled with. the tomyam seafood soup was thick and i love the meat platter which i ate the thai stuffed chicken wings and sausage. sadly i can't take lamb and i dun take beef. the nan was nice but wish it stayed warmed.
well, sadly they took turns to shut their eyes when i tried taking a couple shot for them. from the time we arrived there, we experience the hot then the wet and after exploring, discussions, suggestions and eating, we actually spent almost 3hours there! gx and i thinks the place has many little spots that can take great photos for the couple! by then our little one would be about 8mths old and would be attending her uncle's wedding! look forward to dress my little one for the event!
after we left we head to buy the rest of ingredients for making the new dessert i learnt and some snacks for my one spring week break at home! my uncle's maid was a great help cos she is a filippino, she knows this dessert. as i shred the jackfruit, she sliced the bananas up and ann came in time to help me out with the assembling of the turons. got my cousins to buy a tub of vanilla ice-cream to go with this sweet popiah! it went well and everyone loved it!
after i finished wrapping up the turons, went to the garden and saw the nice orangy sky. rainy day and its so unpredictable as it rain and it stops and it starts all over again. the party had a new dish. mum cooked Sam Leong's wasabi prawns. it was good! wish the prawns were served hot but quite impossible when she prepared 60 prawns!

mum cooked a platter of veg and mee goreng. love the mee goreng! i refused to drink the chicken essence mum brewed for me! i told her if i drank the chicken essence, i won't be able to eat anything! wasn't gog to miss out the yummy stuff laid on the table! aunt k bought the hajiong chicken (shrimp paste) from Ban Leong, Uncle J likes the food there. these were good!
the only dish that i didnt touch at all was crab... and since i can't eat crab, no point eating mantou... wonder if i can eat crab if i breastfeed? can't wait to sink my teeth into chillicrab, buttercrab, peppercrab, crab beehoon! ann was very sweet. she went to order this huge longevity bun from crystal jade. she carried the whole thing and took a train from town!
it was very pretty and best of all, in the big bun after uncle J cuts it up, there are many more tiny buns inside! mu cousin W who went to NY in Feb, got me a vodka from the airport. i didnt have the silver cased up absolut! apparently, this bottle is shaker. it opens differently from the gold vodka i have. u can turn the top part of the silver casing open and pull out the bottle and the top of the bottle has the shaker holes to drain the cocktail into the glasses. i am still missing my blackcurrant bottle... when will i get it? looking forward to add more to my collection! wonder when will i stop.
Sunday 22nd, woke up early again and got gx to roll out of bed and we had bk breakfast. did dome banking transfer, paid bills and we got breakfast for mil. then we had a lazy sunday. i went thru the magazines and did some cleared up. i still have lots in the room to clear! then just as i was gog to shower, i was stuck to the couch watching the movie Click. i always tot this was a comedy. till i sat thru and somehow i teared about 3times thru the movie. gx joined me half way thru the movies and we finished the show. went to prep to go out to pick mum up to do grocery shopping at hougang.

when we were in the car, we chatted about the show. we both have been feeling alittle down. we both wished we could provide more for our family but after watching the show, we reflected and sometimes, what they need is prob time with us. i had a great time talking to mum, listening to her that sunday evening. then we caught another movie The Pacifier. from this movie, i learnt that children need to be listened to. i hope i will keep this with me when i become a mother... its always easier to tell others what to do and not to do. children need a listening ear and lots of moral support and communication should be 2-ways.... would i be a good mother? its never gog to be a easy task, prob the most difficult job on earth is to be a good parent. but i am looking forward to motherhood. i am lucky to have a supportive hubby and family.
