My Singapore Girl
this little Ms Pipi sure knows i am taking her photo....
she posed for me and of cos she did her signature "sticking out her tongue" shot
Last year was our little family's 1st National Day and we took short walk in the neighbourhood and daddy+baby R took a shot with the Singapore flag. She was 2 months old then. Now at 14th months old, she gives very warm hugs and she hugs us very tightly when she feels scared. She was overwhelmed with all the excitment in the room, she was very scared of loud sudden laughter and shouts and she hugged daddy very tightly. We played qin-qin. she gives mummy and daddy wet kisses on our lips! daddy couldnt catch a shot of her giving me a kiss but she was so willing to keep giving me many very wet smooches!
Daddy was her security that day. Whenever she felt scared she would hug daddy very tightly!

Our 2nd National Day family portrait
to keep the tired little one, a baby who hardly had a wink in the afternoon awake for the big event was not easy. she got alittle edgy, a little impatient but she is a fighter! she knew what was coming up and she did hold back her yawns and she tried not to put her head down on us as she knows that would make her miss her favourite moment. (minus the many loud cheers)
i danced with my baby and i chanced upon the fruit bowl which had stalks of orchids! what better accessories than orchid to wear for our Nation's celebration party! i remembered years ago i did the same to nesa when she was tiny... i put an orchid behind her ear and she smiled so beautifully in that pic. Aunt K smiled and told us of that shot when she saw us with the flower! but the difference was my sleepy baby was in no mood to smile for the camera. she was very tired, so tired....
as the first few set of fireworks hit the sky, baby R was eager yet frightened by our cheers that she hid in daddy's chest. so gx decided to bring her to the kids room to watch the fireworks. He knew baby R wanted to see but is so afraid of the loudness of the excitment... it was a good choice. we sat in the dark room, pitched dark room. but she wasnt scared. she sat on my lap and we were waiting near the panel so closely, waiting for the fire up. She didnt hide when the colours filled the sky! she watched with me as we did at home over the 2 rehersals! i would name the different kind of fireworks to her and say boom boom Boom! to direct her to see the fireworks. of cos its so different when we saw the fireworks at MBS. With jus us, my own little family in the room, the experience was awesome. The fireworks - so beautiful, so close, so heart-pounding and i love that feeling! To me, nobody is ever too old to feel like a kid when they watch firework display!
she wanted so much to continue to party...
