Bro's wedding morning

23rd October 2010. Sunday morning. wee morning.... never really slept... cos i closed my eyes prob 12.30am onwards and by 3.30am mum and i were awake... my aunt k was next and we wre busy in the kitchen preparing the things needed for the prayer... cooked the tangyuan, make tea, arrange the fruits... woke the groom up to prep and he wore his new pj that make him looked like he is gog for kungfu session.

thansk to Uncle K who esp made the tablecloth and my mum's CS top fr SH for the occasion!

for the boys, after the parents comb the hair for the groom, parents would tie a red cloth ribbon on bro and like my bro he has 2 bro-inlaws, they would also help to hang over my bro a red cloth and tie a knot to symbolise something good... not sure what it is..... mum said it in cantonese and i dun remember... but if the groom doesnt have bro-inlaws, he will only have the one tied by the parents.

all the early relatives who made it for the comb-hair ceremony! its great effort and i really appreciate.

gx helped bro to pin the corsage.... my bro is a big boy...
the only thing i could do for him was to be his morning photographer!

the items to bring to the bride's house.
the pig will only go over on the 2nd trip, when the couple return to the bride's side for tea ceremony.

bro wrote mum a card... touching...

some moments i helped to captured ... bro got 10 brothers to gate crash with him!

**

when my mum ran out of Xi angbaos... i came up with an idea of giving Ji Xiang for the wee morning packet and Ru Yi for the tea-ceremony angbao for the relatives so that everyone who came to give their blessing has got Ji Xiang Ru Yi angbaos!

flora

seriuosly not in the best mood to keep my updates now... but when i checked the next update was my bro's wedding... i want this in my blog as a record for baby R... cos she attended her very own Fufu's wedding... also its my bro's wedding.

22nd October 2010. Eve of my bro's wedding. bro came and get baby R and me to go Far East Floral to buy flowers to decorate the house for his bug day. my job was to get the flower for the flower gal's hand bouquet.

my bro has a super liking for calic lilies! he simply loves them! my aunt arrange the rest of the arrangements for the house... dun really like to work with her... she stole my flowers for her arrangements and make me end up with insufficient flowers for the hand bouquets and i end up with 2 different sets of hand bouquets...

bro's florist came to do up the cars and deliver the hand bouquets and the sisters' wrist corsages... all very nice except that i found the groom's corsage too similiar to the jiemei's wrist corsage... wished the florist did up my bro's corsage alittle more...

mum specially got this in shanghai when she chanced upon it for my brother's wedding.

5th anniversary 10 course lunch = bro's treat!

injustice to my nice dear bro! i almost forgot to post this! the SD card was hidden in my baby bag pocket and it was till i check my calendar that i saw i have missed out this important meal! oops and i shall post first and change the date to put it back int place!

19th Sept 2010. a beautiful Sunday! one day after my 5th wedding anniversary, we head out for lunch! 10 course meal and its my bro's treat! wooohooo! Its all good timing! i am thankful that my 5th anniversary fell on a Saturday which means my hubby no need to take leave and dap was available to help us out. Then bro arranged his food tasting session jus a day after and it was just coincidence but i am extrememly pleased with the dates!

Grand Park Cityhall hotel for our lunch treat - job: to help decide the dishes and comment to make it better!

i remembered the roast duck was nice and also the squid from the cold dish was pretty good. the sharkfins soup was alittle lacking in fins but we did mention in the review and during my bro's wedding we were pleased to see more fins... for people who preotect the sharks would prob dislike my comment... i personally loved the asparagus dish! there were enough scallops to go around and i love the capisums too! gx doesnt like capiscums to when baby R grows up, if she dislike it = daddy, love it = mummy! the crispy bits are sure a hit! love this dish!

woooo the best wasabi prawns so far besides the ones from humble house where i first tried this dish! think i requested more sauce not sure if bro wrote that but i was very please on the wedding day cos the prawn was so well-coated! the grape and strawberry not only brings colour to the dish but it was a nice combination! the herbal chicken drew a few draws... cos the outlook when it was served was alittle messy but the chicken was nice! the herbs were flavourful and the dish was to stay on the menu!

pretty lucky for me baby R managed to sleep in the pram for awhile. she arrived the restaurant sleeping and i managed to enjoy my meal till 6th dish... count my blessings! fish was fresh but i have never been a real fish fan and the udon noodles were nice! a little spicy in XO sauce not sure if kids find it hot and overall the dishes were very good! the dessert was changed to my favourite of them all among dessert - yam paste!

after lunch was a walk-about to check out the rom venue and ballroom. at first bro wanted the rom outdoor. All parents were pretty against the idea... they all gently dropped hints that the weather is a factor! it was about the same time in the afternoon that we were in the courtyard and it was scorching hot! and if it rains then that would be a problem too... then it was pretty near the road and the trafiic was pretty noisy... so when we head to the indoor venue for the rom, everyone agreed it was a better choice.

Gx and i have ever stepped into this hotel 5 years ago. then the hotel was not as nicely done up as now. we were surprised when bro told us the hotel he chose but after the food tasting and seeing the nice ballroom we were glad the hotel has revamped. we didnt stay for beer but we got baby R flags from the pub... have never attended a germany beer fest but my gal was excited with her 2 new flags and she couldnt stop swinging the flags in the car all the way back to my mum's hm!
