yesterday evening, we visited gx's ex-collegue at her place. gx decided not to bring her baby bag up as he tot we were just going to sit for awhile... her milktime was 30mins away... so we didnt bring in the end... we chatted and suddenly little baby r kept saying something...
I looked at her and she was looking at me, mouthing a word... you can tell as she is repeating and she uses a force, her mouth would slowly move and the word would sound out.... aaa...MiiiiLlllllll ...k (silent K). i look at her and waited for her to do it again and i said to her "r u saying milkmilk???" she smiled and clapped her hands... and repeated the word again...
gx' fren was excited too! she say she tot she heard the same thing as me! daddy was just stunned. baby r repeated a few more times and got irritated as she was not given milk as she had asked for and was about to cry! i gave her a pacifier to buy time and we extended our chat 20mins and we left. she was sitting in her car seat waiting impatiently but still she didnt cry and when she was done with the milk... she slept all the way till we got to mums.
shared excitedly with mum and sis. as they know... it will be baby r's call to ever say anything or do anything. but they got to see for themselves how baby r give hi-5 more readily when we are leaving and she even waved byebye to them without prompting.... did i teach her??? the answer is not really.... she watched us and learnt. she would imitate and i corrected her. I told her to put the hand up is to ask a question or say HI. then when she wave her hand up and down - thats to say byebye... Hi-5 was when she started clapping her hands, she likes the sound when she slap her tiny hand on the bigger hand. all i did was to hold her hand a few times teaching her how to aim and hit to make the sound she wants to hear! really excited to see her achieving milestones after milestones!
