2nd day of CNY 2010. our little family prep and left for uncle J's new home to Kai Nian. Its my mum's side, cantonese tradition to celebrate and gather on the 2nd day. we make offerings to my grandparents and we gather to eat together.
dad had to work on the 1st day so he only got his 1st grandchild CNY greetings on the 2nd day! Gonggong gave baby r an angbao too and that makes each grandparent giving her an angbao each! baby r is so lucky! little one is always surrounded by her little aunties and little uncle. We also exchanged CNY greetings with uncle k on the 2nd day as he fell sick on the 1st day. He made the adults, each family got a dvd and a chinese velvet chunlian from him! the dvd contains all the slideshow he made for the year 2009 and Chan family history photo slideshow.
Little baby r is so into holding the oranges! she can handle the orange pretty well, one in each hands! the only thing is she don't know how to let go of them! She is very fast at grabbing the angbao which can be pretty embarrassing! NOPE we didnt teach her to do that! she is just very fast at getting the object that interest her or what is placed infront of her! she would hold onto the angbao so tight with her tiny hands! the nicest Tiger tee i came across this CNY is the father & son polo tee thats has a very meaningful message. Save China's Tiger. Uncle M & cousin L wore exactly the same tee and orange bottoms!
the HUGE white plate was filled with roast pork, chicken and huge prawns! mum made her stewed oyster and sea cucumber with fa choi & scallops using her new claypot! somehow the claypot presentation make the dish looks even more yummy! mum top the steaming hot dish with sliced abalone when lunch was served. we did a special phototaking and i didnt post any of those photos as i will be making a slideshow when i have time...
