Blueberries are great for health!
One serving of blueberries provides as many antioxidants as 5 servings of broccoli, apples or carrots! It carries Ellagic acid which is an antioxidant that is thought to prevent the development of cancer. Blueberries also contain the antioxidant anthocyanins which strengthen blood capilllaries, improving circulation and helping to transport nutrients around the body - probably one of the reasons blueberries can enhance eyesight and protect against dementia, heart diesease and strokes. Also it has an anti-inflammatory effect on the body's tissues and are rich in tannins, which fight the bacteria that cause urinary tract infections. Eat blueberries 3 or 4 times a week for full immunity-boosting benefits.
i used the method from Annabel Karmel family cookbook . i have a few new dishes for baby r that are from her cookbook that i want to make for baby r! i decided to first try her blueberry apple puree! this can be kept frozen up to 8 weeks. didnt add any water to the apples and blueberries. i just simply chopped the apples and let it simmer in the pot with the blueberries! as the apples get softer, there will be liquid surfacing and the blueberry gives out the nice colours to the chopped apples! took it out and pureed it in a blender and thats it!
baby r loves it even thou theres a slight sour taste from the blueberry!
