Rachel's First Apple!

Been really busy since end november! my post on the last weeks of november is still on draft! haven got time to post that up yet as its incomplete! haven even post up on our busy 1st week of december events but wanted so much to share my little one's first bite!

Wanted to wait till she turn 6mths old tomolo to feed her but she can't wait!!! i know she is very ready for food as she has shown me so many signs that she wants to try! but mil wanted her to eat only when she turns exactly 6mths old then as we are counting down and getting nearer, i stopped pushing for her to try and stick to waiting for the 10th to come... also daddy has taken off to be with us on her special day! BUT she went on a hungry strike yesterday - not finishing her milk thru the day and pushed the bottle away at night! sis and gx took her away from me, trying very hard to pacify her and get her to have some milk... but nothing from the bottle was consume!!! not a single drop! she was protesting! then sis asked her if she wanted to eat... she stop her tantrum and wiggling and looked at us. Sis asked me if we can forward a day to let her have her apple the next day... baby r looked at me... then sis told her if i said yes, then she have to finish her milk then she can have her apple tomolo... i said yes and only when she was given the promise of an apple for today's lunch ... she drank her milk last night!!! she finished her milk in one shot! not a drip left in the bottle.

when she showed me a happy smile, i felt like crying... then i left the room, took the empty bottle out to show gx and cried... yah i cried... i told gx that our little one understand every word that was said... i felt happy ( i guess she knew there were apples in the fridge as my mil asked if i got some from the supermarket in the morning... and our decision not to give her any which then she started her hunger strike thru the day! ) and i can't stop crying cos at the same time as i felt sad that baby r was deprived of having her food earlier and the whole day she seemed so upset! gx laughed and say that our gal will have "metal" teeth soon! He say our little baby is as Ti Ki as the mummy!

So today 9th Dec Wednesday. After we came back from the market, baby r who fought her sleepness from the hot sunny walk, finally got to have her first meal! her very first solid food! the rule was that she sat still in the bumbo seat and i feed her while mil video the process for daddy! we had so many good laughs as baby r smiled non-stop, enjoying her food and i simply love it when she takes the food off the spoon! she looked so cute! the video i took was a second video as the 1st part is too long for loading up on FB. when i first told her, thats all she can have, she slammed the table off her bumbo seat! she is fierce!!! apple is the 1st item we are gog to give her followed on with rice gruel next week and i have a menu planned for her! i studied many books and magazine over the last week and can't wait to feed her more! messy but i love her expressions!
