Week 27th - scared, excited, busy, tired!

Monday was as usual, tired on the 1st day of the week, drag myself to work. sil flew HK for 1 week's work. came home and rested till we went out for dinner and ate our favourite monday meal. it had been weeks since we ate kuey chap at tpy lor8 coffeeshop. slepty early as i was tired.

On tuesday 10th march, met Cousin A after work and we head to sembawang shopping ctr. its newly renovated and i wanted to check out the esprit outlet and daiso. managed to get 2 tops from esprit but the outlet wasnt as big and some items are not very cheap after discount.

then we head to try out the desserts at MOF. Ministry of Food serves jap desserts. please dun try the savoury dishes. i suspect they use the microwave to heat up the rice and curry and it was hardly warm at all! the rice was so hard!!! terrible! the dessert was not bad. (pics taken with hp = blur!)

then we head to daiso and i love it here! not as crowded here compared to other daiso. got 10 items that day - a spagetti container and a container that cooks the spag using mircrowave. kidos food picks, washing net, clothes peg hanger, saw alot of ice-packs here and i bot 2 packs to standby cos now uncle K sometimes need to use it to bring cod fish to shanghai. got a new waterbottle and gx's favourite caramel corn. there is bus-service provided to khatib and yishun mrt station. went home and i felt very uncomfortable. my baby belly had pulls and no matter how i turn i felt tight and to the extend some pain. worse i felt very little movement from my little one. i went to bed to rest and pray that everything was fine.

Wed 11th March, i worried the whole morning as my tummy still felt tight and i tot i was suffering from constipation, which was common in pregnancy but i didnt feel baby moved much and that make me so scared. called the nurse and they suggest that i leave work and down to see gynae immediately... with so many mc track record, i told the nurse i will observe for another hour to see if i can feel baby move before gog down. lucky i did feel her but it was very faint and i just tahan till end of school day, told my tcher and i left 15mins earlier.

Sat at the clinic and i was very worried and i even text gx that if i need to go into labour ward to save the child, he should go home to get the delivery bag 1st which has only half the list of things packed thou! he was in an important meeting and can't be with me but he called me once he could and told me not to worry and make jokes to cheer me up and to make me relax. saw my gynae and after telling him how i felt ... gana scolded! he asked if i ate too much carbo... em... i have been having alot of bread for meals and of cos sweets! but i did eat more dessert during the 2 weeks... the excessive carbo creates too much fluid, thus my tummy feels extremely tight! so he gave me medication and also an order to stay lying down more! he told me that sitting is not resting. i must lie down to rest! EVERYDAY AT LEAST 9HOURS! soon i told him i would be able to do that! cos i will be taking no-pay leave from 2nd week of april. he gave me 2 days of mc but i decided to go to work.
i didn't listen to his advice immediately as i already planned to check out burberry warehouse sale at suntec since tues nite. also i really needed to go to cityhall to buy my tcher's bdae gift. got her a $60 pen. then i spotted robinson sale. managed to get NukNuk milkbottles at 20% and with rbs card 5% rebate! happy with my buy! i got the buddlepack which came with a bathing sponge, a pacifier that i just want to stand by, still not very keen in introducing it to my baby. it also came with a pacifier clip. as recommended by V, i got NukNuk's bottle brush. then not sure it it was useful but i go a bath thermomter, it indicates the safe temperature of the water for baby to bath in.

then i head over to suntec, as many people walked FAST past me... they could be at a normal pace, i felt i was crawling among the crowd. made it to suntec finally and seeing many were heading the same direction as me... there seems to have many exhibitions and events gog on, some were preparing to open the next day, mostly IT fair. when i reached the burberry sale... unbelivable, we gota q to put our bags into plastic bags and they will cable-tie the bag up! i had my fully-packed agnes b demin bag and a robinson shopping bag! they just stuff into a bag and i had to carry that heavy load in my hand and hold my wallet and hp with the other hand! i sweared! it was so heavy and how to shop!!! pissed but since i got in, i went to shop with alot of difficulty.
walked around and i was disappointed with the items and after discount it was still ex! then i walked on to spot a wagon of 70% items and these were nicer than those on 50%. after trying 4 tops, i only got 1 pc that fit me and i like it. $250 and after 70% less i paid $75. i have been a burberry fan but never got myself many items, more for gx. then i went on to the baby's wagon. managed to to get 2 sets of giftsets.

these cost $310 and after 70% it was $93! em... yah more ex than my top and for my top i will get to wear it for endless times... not for babies cos after a few wear they grow very fast and won't be able to wear it again but i like it and i just went ahead to get it... a thin polo material, i suddenly dun know this type of baby top is called... rompers? and it came with a baby burberry hat! so i got a set in pink and a set in brown. gx joined me for dinner at viet restaurant phohoa and we head home and after medication i checked the internet for more information on Amniotic fluid and protein food before i slept!
Thursday 12th march, with the orders of no carb, i can't snack on biscuits anymore! lucky for me i got 2 tubs of chilli-fried fish which i almost finish one at home and i brought the other to school. got these near school and i love it cos its not too hot and it has this sweetness to the cripsy fish! after school, i went to woodlands with ann to eat dinner. poor her, she had to go back to school for students' nite rehersal. it was tough choice as i was not to eat carbo, there are not many stalls i can choose from. so i ate ampang yongtaufu... without rice or noodles. then i went on to look for my new hotwater bottle to warm my aching back. went to get my tcher a cake for her bdae celebration with the kids and head home to rest. for the first time, i felt my baby moved so much! she pratically seems to be turning non-stop in my baby belly! but i was so tired that i fell asleep on the sofa. i was glad she is moving!

Friday 13th -surprise my tcher with the cake and gave her the pen i got. i got the pen for her as she travels alot and i tot it will be useful. hope she likes it. what i was most looking forward to was to meet my dear fren tabby finally! chose to meet at isetan supermarket as dap informed me about Jap fair. right after we hugged, as both of us are starving, we started browsing around to buy something to munch! we got jap fishcake to share! we each got a spicy cod roe fishcake and shared the seaweed fishcake which was really nice!
we head to sun with moon and i ordered a kyoho grape yogurt drink. it had bits of grape jello and i like it. em... yes its sweet... we ordered mini tori teriyaki set. we gota wait for the sand-timer before opening up to eat our teriyaki chicken rice. the salmon balls was a cold-dish and it was hard... lucky we asked ofr extra teriyaki sauce.
we talked for ages and we ordered a platter of ice-cream filled puffs to share. i liked the strawberry ice-cream least! i like the macha and black sesame ice-cream puff best! we chatted non-stopped even when we were walking to the mrt station. got myself 2 bags of cherries. one for gx family and one for my mum. these were better than the ones at cold storage!
got a very lovely cupcake puffy sticker at borders, just have to have it! its so pretty! at the jap fair, i got this lovely fruit recipes chart. love the nice, cute colour pencil illustrations that was next to the text! the only thing i bought from the fair was a pack of 2 oranges! i got to try a tiny bit of this orange and there were 2 other type of oranges but i fell in love with this odd-shaped orange!
Deconpon Kumamoto is the Jap name for this odd-shaped but very sweet orange! i picked this pack and asked the nice jap lady if the pack i chose was a good choice! she said the longer the the top of the orange is the sweeter! Tabby oso got herself a packet! yes i know $9.90 is ex for 2 oranges but i love the shape cos it resembles a hu'lu and seems a very good and symbolic gift. i gave my mil one and she said it looks like a hu'lu! gog to give the other one to my mum.

my little one loves cherries! when i ate a bunch of cherries, she got excited and moved alot! so i decided to take a pic of baby with the cherry! well, March has been a fruity month so far! the jap fair ends next week... i think i should stay away from isetan and ck tang supermkt... been spending too much on these ntaural sweets! but they are sure better than artificial sweets! with no-pay in april, i seem to just go ahead and buy whatever i want now!

good things found in March

these are the apples that i fell in love with! they were found in ntuc and i love it cos when i walked past these apples, they have a very nice scent which is what draws me to try them. also i love the dark red on these apples and best thing is it taste somehow the APPLE taste i have been looking for. yes i mean it. these apples have APPLE taste. i somehow gave up eating fruits in singapore cos most fruits dun have the right taste... this was my 3rd tray of apples and was pretty sad that i didnt get to see them recently after i got my 3rd tray. i hope that they continue to bring in these nice organic apples from the US.
the other fruit i fell in love with are the dark cherries that cost a bomb! $14 for 500g. these are really good and sweet! i bot my first batch from ck tangs and i managed to get my 2nd at cold storage on offer but it wasn't as good as the 1st batch! think my baby likes the cherries too! she moves almost everytime when i am done eating cherries!
bot this bottle of chestnut spread from the french fair at isetan when i met up with dap. its a very difficult bottle to open!!! i troubled both the men in the house to get this opened! it maybe very sweet for some, so layer only a thin layer on bread to try first. personally i like the taste but its really alittle sweet. but its good stuff!
i love daiso at sembawang shopping centre! the one at PS and IMM is always so crowded regardless which day and what time it was! but at SSC, at 5+pm, i could slowly browse thru the shelves and this place seems bigger than PS. some useful or special items i got was a spagetti container and a container that cooks the spag using mircrowave. yet to use it but hopefully its useful! then it will make cooking spag faster! when i test this out, i will give my verdict.
remembering what emily suggested, i got a small netted washing bag for baby's mittens, booties and small items. i think that was a great suggestion! and i got a little clothes peg hanger for drying the washed mittens and socks! the other buy was sort of too early and unneccesary! but its something i couldn't let go! nice food picks for kiddos! i will prob use them for my cousins prob for my bdae!

personally i really think japanese are so innovative when it comes to food! they make these picks to brighten their children's day! it prob coax children to try the food and really making it interesting for the kids. i like the concept where by the children bring food from home but its very time consuming. more good things to come!

Chalet & BBQ

it's been a long time since our family had a chalet. we usually bbq at home. sis just ballot and managed to get her bank's chalet. 2 units. it rained so heavy and with the non-stop thundering, i almost tot the bbq would be cancelled. but the rain did stopped and the kidos were the happiest. they were all ready in their swimwear and they head straight to the Wild wild wet to play. got to lay down to rest awhile and the rest of the family members arrived shortly and bro & gx started bbq fire.
we had a long list of food for the bbq. the special item that nite would be these slabs of huge steaks! according to aunt o who bot them from swiss butchery, they are beef from 100 days old cows... greenfield steaks??? caught only alittle about the history of the beef. cos i dun eat it, not sure whats the difference... prob young meat = tender cos it moved very little of its muscle?

tables always filled and we had new frens joining the party. cousin A and B brought their frens to the bbq, meeting the family for the 1st time. there were endless food. chicken wings, pork and mutton satays, otak, beehoon, taiwan sausage, pork chipolata, cuttlefish balls, vietnamese pork chop, beef, bacon wrapped asparagus and all time favourite buttered corn! nesa was waiting patiently for the whole nite for me to give her the green nite to bbq her mashmellows.

our hero of the nite. my cousin B went thru some op on his leg... he braved the pain and attended the party as who wants to be left out! dun know when we will have chalet again! the only photo gx and i took that nite. uncle m nagged at me non-stop when i was trying to do the bbq. so i sat down and when coast was clear i bbq with gx! the waether wasn't as hot as before it rained and the temp was brought down by the heavy downpour and everything went well. everybody went home, only bro, his gf C and mum stayed for the nite.

so sweet of Cousin Art and his gf S to get my little gal a softtoy! they spotted this while they took a stroll at the downtown east mall. it a cute little girly cow! hard to find and i was glad they got our little gal such a nice sweet and it does have this cheeky grin! our little gal has been playing freeze game with daddy! veyr cheeky little one! when i tell gx the baby is moving, he puts his hands on baby bump to feel, she stops her movements... and when gx puts his ear on me, she freezes!
